Volatility is back, and the market outlook is less certain than it was in 2017. This, however, is a good environment for us, as active managers, because volatility creates price dislocations and offers an attractive entry point for long-term minded investors. With strong growth in most economically important countries globally, cheap stock valuations and generally good political governance, we think, emerging markets (EM) continue to represent a compelling opportunity in a world where many other markets and countries are expensive on an absolute and relative basis.
